A portion of Highway 1 near Rat Creek has slid out.
Monterey County CHP and Big Sur Fire have confirmed Highway 1 slid out at MM 30 near Rat Creek - located south of Esalen (MM 32.6) and north of Big Creek (MM 28.1).
Caltrans will have assessment teams and contractors at the location at first light tomorrow.
More word on the road’s condition by tomorrow, Friday, afternoon.
